Hitmen walk it off in the bottom of the 8th inning. It was a hard fought battle against one of the best teams in the league!

Last week's game against the Pitbulls was rained out, so the Hitmen had an extra week off to prepare for the Cucuyz. Tanner Deitrich pitched a gem of a game, going 7 innings, sticking out 12, and only allowing 4 runs (2 unearned). The bats kept the Hitmen in the game throughout, but they were unable to capitalize on the bases, getting thrown out 3 times. Steven Padilla came in to pitch in the 8 inning. He was able to force the Cucuyz into ground balls and pop-flys and only faced 6 batters.  At the bottom of the 9th, the Hitmen tied the game at 4, but were unable to take the lead for the win. After two innings, the Lumberjacks got off to a 8-2 lead. The Hitmen managed to score 4 runs in the top of the 3rd, making a small comeback, and kept the Lumberjacks scoreless in the bottom. Over the next two innings, the Hitmen allowed 10 more runs and the game was all but over. They look to regroup and end the losing streak next week against the Pitbulls. (8/17/22)

The Hitmen were unable to get the bats going in a 7-3 loss to the Aliens. A few errors in the outfield contributed to the loss as well. There were some highlights though. Joseph Aguilar had a good start at pitcher, followed by an excellent outing by Colin Jeter in relief. Tanner Deitrich provided some impressive plays on defense! (08/09/22)
