Late Score Costs Hawks Against Cyclones

  • Hawks stayed in it until the end, but Cyclones pulled away late in a 9-2 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at one when the Cyclones pulled away for good with two runs in the sixth inning going up 3-1. The Cylones added two more runs in the 7th on a throwing error by pitcher Andrew Medrano.
  • Matt Cooper was credited with the victory for Cyclones. He surrendered one run on two hits over six innings, striking out six. David Towler threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
  • Andrew Medrano took the loss for Hawks. He allowed ten hits and four runs over eight innings, striking out three.
  • Matt Garcia went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hawks in hits.
  • Cyclones totaled 12 hits in the game.
